About Françoise Oostwegel

Welcome!

My name is Françoise Oostwegel, a designer and creative maker born in the 90s. My passion for materials, techniques, and contemporary art comes together in artistic objects and functional products.

There is rarely a day when I’m not sketching new ideas. I prefer to do this from my studio in Maastricht, located in a former fire station. Here, I design a wide range of pieces, including lighting and home accessories such as cushions, tealight holders, coasters, vases, tableware, and wall illustrations. I also create custom illustrations for personalised items such as wedding and birth cards.

I love working with my hands, while also using various machines to bring my designs to life. Finding the right balance between craftsmanship, technology, and the use of high-quality materials results in unique, functional products with a distinct and personal signature.

After graduating from the Maastricht Academy of Fine Arts and Design in June 2014 with my project Lamp ZUID, I founded my own studio later that year. My work is inspired by geometric forms and diverse environments from around the world. My signature style is clearly reflected in all my designs, and I personally produce each piece to ensure the highest level of quality.

Every item is original Dutch design, designed and made in the southern Netherlands. All pieces can be shipped worldwide, allowing you to bring a piece of Dutch craftsmanship into your own space, wherever you are.
